Outdoor kitchens fail on materials long before they fail on layout. Granite handles both direct sun and a hot grill lid set down on it without marking. Fluted wood fronts add the texture an outdoor run usually lacks, and putting the beverage fridge in the island means the cook stops walking back indoors mid-cook — which is the entire point of building one.
