Backyard studio conversion — before and after

Featured project

Backyard Studio Conversion

A bare backyard shed turned into a finished mini studio: insulated and cooled, hickory floors, drywall, trim and paint inside and out. The kind of project that does not fit a category but changes how a house gets used.

How it works

Five stages, agreed up front, so you always know what happens next.

  1. 01

    The first walkthrough

We start at your home, taking photos and notes on the space and what you want out of it. Prefer to start online? Send photos and details through the booking form and we'll go from there.

  2. 02

    Your 3D design

Our designer builds a 3D model of your actual space, so you can see the room before a single thing is torn out.

  3. 03

    Selections and final price

At the second consultation, in your home, we walk the 3D design together and you choose every material: tile, countertops, fixtures and finishes. Once it's all chosen, you get one final price for the whole project.

  4. 04

    The build

Jay and Greg are on your project — not a rotating crew. We keep the site clean and keep you updated as the work happens.

  5. 05

    Final walkthrough

We walk every detail with you before we call it done. If something's not right, we make it right.

What affects the price

Small projects vary more than big ones. These are the things that move the number most, so you can decide where to spend and where to save.

  • Size and condition

Square footage and the state of the surfaces we are starting from.

  • Material choices

Paint grade, flooring type and the finishes you pick.

  • Prep work

How much repair and preparation the space needs before we start.

  • Bundling

Combining several jobs into one visit usually saves you money.

Home improvements FAQ

Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask most.

Our pricing is all-inclusive — materials and labor in one number, not a labor figure with material costs added later. We purchase the materials ourselves, so you are not sourcing tile, chasing deliveries or paying separate supplier invoices. You choose every finish; we handle getting it to the job.

Yes — our work carries a limited lifetime warranty. We also walk the finished space with you before the project is called done, so anything that isn't right gets put right there and then.

Both. Alongside kitchens and baths we do drywall, painting, flooring, trim, repairs and punch lists — the work that keeps a whole house feeling cared for. If it's small enough that you're wondering whether it's worth calling about, it probably is.

Yes, and it's a common call. We'll walk what is there and tell you honestly what can be carried forward and what is better redone — including when the honest answer is that the existing work is fine and you don't need us for it.

Drywall and texture, interior and exterior painting, flooring throughout, trim and doors, and the repair work that doesn't fit neatly into a room remodel. Beyond the interior we have also built out garages, sheds and backyard spaces — there are examples of each on this site.

Mostly scope and access — how much surface area is involved, what has to be moved or protected to reach it, and the materials you choose. Smaller jobs are also affected by how many separate trades a visit needs, which is why we prefer to look at everything at once.

Yes. The final stage of every project is a walkthrough where we go through the completed space with you, review the details and address anything that needs attention before we call it finished.

We work clean. Floors and pathways get protected, the site gets picked up at the end of every day, and we contain the mess to the space we're working in.
