Oak cabinets, laminate counters and black appliances replaced with white shaker cabinetry, quartz counters, a mosaic brick backsplash and stainless appliances — with new flooring run through the kitchen and dining room in the same project.

This is what a whole-heart-of-the-home remodel looks like when it's planned as one piece instead of three. The kitchen went from dark and dated to white and open; the quartz island gives the room a workspace it never had; and taking the flooring through the dining room in the same trip means the new kitchen does not stop at an arbitrary line on the floor.
