Shed to Dance Studio

The project
The story
A backyard shed stripped to the studs and rebuilt as a finished studio — wide-plank flooring, clean white walls and recessed lighting.
Stripping back to the studs is what makes the difference between a shed with a floor in it and a finished room — it is the only point at which insulation, wiring and lighting can be done properly rather than surface-mounted afterwards. Wide-plank flooring suits a room meant to be moved in, and recessed lighting keeps the ceiling plane unbroken, which matters more in a small building than a large one.
